Well, the final piece to the doll puzzle has arrived (aside from Daigo’s ill-fitting pants, of course)! These are the Pale Blossoms glass eyes I received from the group order run by Forbidden. I didn’t realize that glass and acrylic are just worlds apart! Acrylic is so much more realistic but can’t pick up the light at all like glass can. I’m in love with these eyes. Just take a look:

In case you’re interested in buying some for yourself, HB-04 and HA-06 are just perfect. The colors are exactly like their official photos. HB-21, though, looks absolutely nothing like it’s official photo at all. I thought it was hazel green but in reality it’s a light tan with a hint of green. Iris size seems fine. Maybe a bit on the large side. Compared to my other eyes, these are much smaller than one of my 14mm eyes and the same size as my other 14mm eyes (even though these are 12mm).

My Dollmore clothes for Daigo arrived today and I just HAD to get some shots of my new bad boy, since both of my dolls look pretty much perfectly complete. All he needs are some better fitting pants. So please enjoy my power couple: the aspiring model YeunJa and the wannabe rock star Daigo!

I’m sooooo nervous that I made a mistake ordering a Unidoll body for Daigo. Sometimes the resin difference bothers me but other times I just don’t care because the Supergem body is SO hot. These photos were photoshopped to match so there IS a difference but…ack!! Was it worth $465?!

Not safe for work!!!
Yeah, another test shot. I think I might just start calling them “sketches” because I’m having trouble getting around to doing real shoots. I mean, I have to devote half a day at least to a shoot, what with lighting (or my lack of, to be specific), setup, constant maintenance (that hair!!), teardown, choosing the right pics, and editing.
We have this HUGE poster of this Rolling Stone cover in the guys bathroom at work and I thought it would make a cool photoshoot for Hazy so I played around with the idea. It’d be awesome to incorporate Daigo into the shoot as well (preferably with clothes, though). Anyway, if you wanna critique, please do. Otherwise, enjoy the idea.

The most believable and lovable thing about a doll to me is not any one feature but instead the styling and theming of the doll, or the bringing together of all elements into one complete package. Sure, I prefer realistic dolls, but good styling transcends all my preferences and just makes me stop and say “wow.” From gorgeous faceups to just the right color wigs to incredible outfits, these dolls exude personality, tell a story, transcend into art, or just make my mouth water.
Zagzagael’s SD17 Alain
A great mature sculpt is turned into something incredible through Armeleia’s masterful faceup skills, a perfect wig, and Zagzagael’s photography work. Rarely do we get to see freckles done this realistically and a face so clean and natural.

michiko88’s Unoa Lusis
From her black and white ensemble to that dash of blue that perfectly matches her eyes and eye shadow, this Lusis is the picture of a stylish young lady. She’s the type of doll that makes me instantly want to emulate her style, although I know the style is uniquely hers.

belladonna’s Migidoll Ryu (Jared)
Having now owned a Ryu, I truly see what a versatile mold he is. However, Jared’s mold and faceup are not what define him. His hair, clothes, mold, faceup, eyes, and even the angle at which he is photographed as well as the setting all work together to bring out his style and personality. I’ve seen a lot of rock/emo/punk BJDs out there but Jared brings something fresh to the table with his Native American/slightly hippie twist and gorgeous skin.

After pampering my two kids with magic eraser baths and wig styling, I decided to mess around with some poses and got some pertty good shots. Hopefully I can do a real shoot soon, preferably outdoors. Enjoy the budding romance!

I was able to slip into the Volks USA Tenshi no Sumika mini meet for a short time and although I sadly didn’t really get to hang out, I am so glad I got to meet zetoast in person, say hi to a few people I recognized but had never met, and reunite with Haru-Ru and Gauze -mode of eve- again. Enjoy these photos I took.

He’s almost complete! Now just waiting on his eyes and Unireal body. This boy is so much more versatile than I thought. I’m trying to make him kind of rocker-ish but he looks more like a surfer dude in this wig and his green hoodie.

I was originally thinking something punk rock, but not too extreme. Something kind of like this guy:

However, I wanted him to have some kind of cool hoodie/shirt/jacket. I’m hoping to use some fabric I found to make the following hoodie (this is a mock up I made):

I also bought some gorgeous jean material that looks slightly acid washed and I’m hoping his necklaces will be a mix of chains, ball chains, and black cord with pendants.
As for names…I’m totally lost. Here are the very few names in the running:
Aiden, Merritt, or maybe some kind of simple Japanese name.
