So now that I’m officially “in” with bjds, there are some things I’ve realized:
1. There’s no such thing as “I’ll just get one and that’s enough for me.”
2. It’s not worth it to buy a cheaper doll just to save some money. Save for that extra month or two (or six, in my case) to get the more expensive one that you really want.
That being said, I’m looking into which boy doll I want next. I know I want a masculine doll on par with Hazy’s quality and realism. Otherwise they wouldn’t match very well. I believe I know which boy I want but considering how many dolls Iplehouse has lined up and that companies like BuddyDoll are going for masculine men now, my pick may be in jeopardy!
Still, I have not seen any other boy with more personality and unique features thaaannn…da da daa! Soom Lupin!
At first, I didn’t like him very much because of his lips but the more I look at owner photos (like jacobean’s), the more I think this guy is the one. I originally wanted Spinel, but my standard is: If I see a photo of a mold and think he could be mistaken for a girl, I don’t want him. I saw a Spinel like that a couple of days ago. However, I am head over heels for SDink’s Spinel work, but she is the only one I would want to make up my Spinel. Lupin, though, looks great in his default makeup (although I think I’m going for custom work to make mine unique) and would never be taken for a girl.
There were some others in the running, particularly Limhwa’s Tanned Mano, Iplehouse Akando, or a Minimee but Minimee seems very expensive and limiting (resin matching), Mano’s body is extremely skinny and Akando’s face still looks very generic and feminine to me. Lupin’s body is…well…I’ll let the photo speak for itself.

In the end, Lupin looks just about perfect. I have but one question for you guys: How well do you think he would match with Hazy? And (I guess a second question), do you have any other suggestions for boys I should consider? Looking forward to getting one Feb-Apr 2009!
